Mindset #13 — Identify It. Reject It. Run Toward Holiness. (2 Timothy 2:22)

Spiritual growth requires both resistance and pursuit.

“A silhouette of a person running across a landscape under a blue sky. Text reads: ‘What moves you toward sin? Identify it. Reject it. Run toward what makes you holy.’”

“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

— 2 Timothy 2:22 (KJV)

Victory over sin is not found by standing still.

Scripture doesn’t simply tell us what to avoid—it tells us where to run.

Every believer has weaknesses, temptations, and distractions that try to pull the heart away from God. The first step is to identify what moves you toward sin. The second is to reject it before it gains a foothold. But the journey doesn’t end there.

God calls us to pursue righteousness.

When you replace temptation with truth, compromise with conviction, and worldly desires with a hunger for Christ, your life begins to change. Holiness isn’t merely the absence of sin—it is the active pursuit of God’s presence.

The closer you draw to Christ, the less appealing the things that once pulled you away become.

Don’t spend your life seeing how close you can get to sin. Spend it discovering how close you can walk with Christ.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
