Here I am, Lord.

I need You.

I desire You, God; I depend on You to get through each day.

I need the Holy Spirit to guide, teach, discipline, and create a worthy heart, soul, and mind to please You, Lord.

I want to be a pleasure to You, Lord.

In Jesus’ name, I pray that all my thoughts, words, and actions cause You joy today, Lord.

Reflection

One of the most beautiful parts of this prayer is its simplicity:

“Here I am, Lord. I need You.”

Those six words contain a powerful truth.

Many people begin their day focused on schedules, responsibilities, worries, and distractions. This prayer begins with dependence upon God.

It acknowledges that we need His guidance, His wisdom, His correction, and His presence.

Another powerful statement is:

“I want to be a pleasure to You, Lord.”

Rather than asking what the day can do for us, this prayer asks how our lives can honor God.
