Mindset #82 — If Something Is Going to Lead You to Sin, Avoid It Altogether. (Romans 13:14)

Wisdom doesn’t ask how close you can get to temptation—it asks how far you should stay from it.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”

— Romans 13:14 (KJV)

Victory over sin begins long before temptation appears.

The strongest believers are not those who constantly fight temptation. They are those who wisely avoid the places, habits, and influences that feed it.

If a relationship pulls you toward sin, step away.

If a website feeds your flesh, remove it.

If a habit weakens your walk with Christ, let it go.

God never calls us to manage temptation.

He calls us to flee from it.

Every step away from sin is a step closer to Christ.

Protect your heart before it needs rescuing.

Don’t ask, “Can I handle it?” Ask, “Will it draw me closer to Christ?” If the answer is no, walk away without hesitation.

The best way to stop sin is to never start walking toward it in the first place.
