Striving for Christian Unity: Overcoming Division and Standing Together

Christian, the word alone sparks controversy and is sometimes considered wrong. When I first became a Christian, I just wanted to talk to other Christians and talk with them about THE LORD JESUS CHRIST; I never really thought it would be so hard. After all, we were on the same side. Still, there is so much division between Christians, and right now, Christian unity should be stronger than ever.

It is abundantly clear that Christianity is Under attack by governments all around the world. They say that it’s not, but their actions speak otherwise. If you look at the situation unfolding in Canada regarding Bill C-367, if passed, you could be arrested for quoting the bible.

In short, the bill would eliminate religious exemptions under the ‘hate speech’ section of the Criminal Code, potentially allowing for the arrest of individuals, including Christians, for expressing their beliefs.

As Christians, we must be there for each other and support one another, regardless of the circumstances. We should offer help and support to our fellow brothers and sisters in our church, neighborhood, and on social media. This is not about popularity; it’s about uniting as the body of Christ.

“The body has various functions. Our hands and arms are not meant for walking, and our legs are not meant to replace our hands. I don’t prefer one over the other. Each part has its purpose.”

“If I decided to walk down to the store, my hands wouldn’t reach down to trip my feet. My mouth would not curse or condemn me. My body functions in unity. There is an oneness about it that is visible to all. If a heavy object fell on my left hand, my right hand would be the first thing trying to get the object off of my left hand.”

“It’s easy to see a body functioning as one when you look at it. It’s just like seeing the body of Christ functioning as one – there’s a unity about it! The legs walk, and the hands don’t try to trip them; the mouth doesn’t curse them. The mind doesn’t try to convince them to cut off the legs, and they don’t see them as useless.”

The body of Christ functions similarly. Christians form the body of Christ, and the Holy Spirit serves as the guide, which is why the church should directly reflect the Holy Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

    – Galatians 5:22-26 – KJV

    Teamwork (Unity) Gets things done!
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and everyone is one of another.

     – Romans 12:4-5 – KJV
