Only God Can Satisfy My Soul – Steps Towards Eternity Daily Devotional

Satisfied by God

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
—Psalm 107:9 (KJV)

People search for fulfillment in many ways, longing for something to satisfy the hunger within them. Yet, no matter how much they chase after success, relationships, or worldly pleasures, an emptiness remains—one they cannot quite understand how to fill.

Only God can truly satisfy the soul. He alone can heal the brokenness that weighs us down and bring peace to the restless heart. The hollowness of loneliness, the ache of sorrow, and the burden of bitterness all lose their grip in the presence of His love. There is no pain He cannot heal, no resentment His love cannot overpower.

When we allow God to work within our hearts, souls, and minds, we open ourselves to a goodness that brings lasting satisfaction. His ways lead to true joy, peace, and love—filling us in a way nothing else ever could.

Reflective Questions:

 1.    In what ways have you searched for fulfillment outside of God?
    2.    What areas of your heart feel empty or broken that need His healing touch?
    3.    How can you invite God to satisfy your soul today?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a longing heart, knowing that only You can truly satisfy my soul. Forgive me for seeking fulfillment in things that cannot last. Fill me with Your presence, heal my brokenness, and replace my emptiness with Your joy, peace, and love. Teach me to rest in You, trusting that You alone can meet every need of my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
