Mindset: I need Jesus every day! Steps Towards Eternity Daily Devotional

Jesus, Our Mediator and Model for Living — The One Who Stands for Us—and Leads Us Daily

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)

Jesus did what no one else could ever do.

He willingly laid down His life to pay the penalty for our sin, reconcile us to the Father, and break the bondage that sin once held over us. No one else could bear the weight of our transgressions, but Jesus did.

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
— 1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)

Through His sacrifice, we now have the privilege of coming before God in His name. Because of His blood, we are forgiven. Because of His grace, we are cleansed. Because of His righteousness, we have peace with God. He is faithful to forgive those who repent and trust in Him.”

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
— 1 John 1:9 (KJV)

There should never be a day when we fail to spend time with our Lord and Savior.

His Word should dwell richly within us. His example should shape our thoughts, our decisions, and the way we respond to every situation. As we learn to love as He loved, forgive as He forgave, and walk as He walked, we become living reflections of His grace.

When Christ is first in our lives, even life’s greatest burdens become lighter because we no longer carry them alone.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Jesus has set us free from the bondage of sin and has given us victory over this world.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
— John 8:32 (KJV)

“This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
— 1 John 5:4 (KJV)

When Christ is first, there is no calling He gives that He cannot also equip us to fulfill. No obstacle is too great, no burden too heavy, and no storm too fierce for the One who has already overcome the world.

He is the reason we rise each morning.

He is our purpose.

He is our peace.

He is our strength.

He is our example.

His presence anchors our lives—not only for today, but for eternity.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…”
— Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)

Reflective Questions

  • What have I allowed into my life that keeps me from reflecting Christ more faithfully?
  • What does it mean to me that Jesus stands before the Father as my mediator?
  • How can I intentionally begin each day with Christ at the center of my heart and mind?
  • In what area of my life do I need to remember that Christ has already secured the victory?

Prayer

In the name of Jesus, I come before You, Father, thanking You for the gift of Your Son—my Savior, Mediator, Redeemer, and Shepherd. Help me to begin every day with my eyes fixed on Christ. Let His Word guide my thoughts, His example shape my actions, and His sacrifice remind me of the victory You have already given me. Strengthen my faith, renew my mind, and help me to walk each day in obedience and gratitude. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you for reading.

May God richly bless you as you keep Jesus at the center of your life every single day.

“Christ has blessed us in countless ways—far beyond our understanding. May His name be praised forever.”
