Jesus, Our Mediator and Model for Living — The One Who Stands for Us—and Leads Us Daily
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
— 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)
Jesus died for us—no one else could. He willingly laid down His life to pay the price for our sin and to break the chains of its bondage. No other could bear the weight of our transgressions, but He did.
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
— 1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
Through His sacrifice, we now have the ability to seek forgiveness in His name. It is by His blood and through His stripes that we are healed, cleansed, and made righteous.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
— 1 John 1:9 (KJV)
There’s not a day that should pass without us thinking about and spending time with our Lord and Savior. His words should dwell in our hearts, and His life should guide how we handle the moments of our day. When we remember how He responded in love, patience, and truth, we learn how to respond ourselves.
When we put Him first, our day—and our burdens—becomes lighter.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
— Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
He has set us free from the bondage of sin and given us victory over the world.
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
— John 8:32 (KJV)
this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
— 1 John 5:4 (KJV)
When we put Him first, we can accomplish anything He’s called us to. There is no barrier too strong, no weight too heavy, and no storm too great for the One who overcame it all.
He is the reason we rise each morning. He is our purpose, our peace, and our example. His presence anchors our existence not just in the present—but in eternity.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…
— Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
Reflective Questions:
- What do you accept in your life, and does it compromise you being a reflection of Christ?
- What does it mean to you that Jesus stands before God on your behalf?
- How can you begin each day with Christ at the center?
- In what areas of your life do you need to be reminded that He has already given you victory?
Prayer:
In Jesus name I come before You, Father, thanking You for the gift of Jesus—my mediator, redeemer, and guide. Help me to start each day with Him in mind. Let His example shape my decisions, and may His sacrifice be the reminder of the victory I already have. Anchor me in Your truth and lead me in Your ways, today and always. In Jesus name, Amen.
Thank you for reading. God bless you!
