Guided by His Light – Steps Towards Eternity Daily Devotional

Jesus is the light that leads us out of darkness and into the peace of God.

“To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
-Luke 1:79 (KJV)

Jesus has come to rescue us from darkness—not just the absence of light but the deep hopelessness that sin brings. Life can feel overwhelming, full of despair, and at times, it may seem like there is no way forward. Yet, in those moments, we have a hope that is greater than our circumstances. That hope is Jesus, and He alone can bring us out of the shadows.

When life is overwhelming and you’re on the brink of giving up, feeling as though no one cares—remember this: Jesus cares when no one else does. The Psalmist declares, “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up” (Psalm 27:10). No matter who has left you or how abandoned you feel, God is always present, ready to lift you into His peace.

The peace of Christ can overcome anything. No storm is too strong, no darkness too deep. All who call upon the name of Jesus will be saved. Let His light guide you today.

Reflective Questions:

  • What areas of your life feel weighed down by darkness or despair?
  • How has Jesus brought peace into your life before?
  • Have you fully placed your trust in Him to guide your path?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You are the light that shines in my darkest moments. When I feel lost, remind me that You are near. Guide my steps into Your perfect peace, and help me trust in You completely. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
