Forgiveness is an immeasurable power not of this world.
Whether you’re just getting to know Christ or well seasoned with him, you’re either coming to an understanding or already knowing that forgiveness lies in the Center of Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:9 – KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
When I first came to know Christ, I couldn’t help but realize his divine forgiveness, and it wasn’t like anything I had ever experienced in my life. It was gentle, warm, and joyful, and even though I try to describe it, I can never put it altogether into words. It was an immeasurable power not of this world and a gift delivered within my soul. I realized it wasn’t just meant for me alone but also intended for others.
Matthew 6:14 – KJV
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
What brought me to this realization was my self-reflection. I came to Christ not even sure if he truly existed or not? I discovered he was the most realistic person that I had ever met. I realize people are going to question that statement.
John 14:23 – KJV
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
“The most realistic person” You’d ever met?
There was no doubt that He was God, and all things good flowed from Him like an endless river, and I couldn’t get enough of it. Meeting him was like being drawn into a vortex of another dimension, a place full of life, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I knew nothing wrong/evil could enter this place. It changed me completely. I’m talking about how I felt about myself and what I had done throughout my life, something I knew I shouldn’t be doing, but I did them anyway. The guilt that I carried for years vanished immediately in his presence. I asked Him to forgive me, and I knew He forgave me.
Psalms 32:5 – KJV
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
1 John 2:12 – KJV
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
The forgiveness of God repairs the heart, mind, and soul from any emotional damage you have suffered. I knew Jesus had forgiven me for anything I had ever done. That’s the power and beauty of his forgiveness. To be able to take such blame that I have held my entire life and vanish it within a blink of an eye.
Hebrews 10:15-17 – KJV
Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Forgiveness isn’t about saying it was okay—it’s about choosing freedom over what hurt you.
