“Delighting in God’s Statutes: Steps Towards Eternity Daily Devotional

Reflection, and Praise in Daily Living”

“I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.”

— Psalm 119:16 (KJV)

I will take pleasure in Your law and commandments, Lord. I will remember Your word.

When I speak,
when I think,
when I act,
I will do so to represent You to the fullest.

Your word has made this a joy for me, and Your law and commandments are in my heart, teaching me love.

I look to Your perfect law and commandments daily, and they give me peace and joy—a fullness that is not of this world. With Your word, I know that all things are possible.

I can never praise You enough for Your word. I will praise You for eternity.

Reflective Questions:

•    How often do I consider God’s law and commandments?
    •    Do I use the Word in my daily routine enough?
    •    How often do I praise God throughout the day for His word?
    •    How many times throughout the day do I meditate on God’s word?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come before You in Jesus’ name, and I want to thank You for Your law and commandments that have made my life complete. Without Your word, I could not exist. I need Your word daily, and I ask for forgiveness for the times I have not praised You. I ask that the Holy Ghost intervene in my daily goings so that I am about Your business. I want to bring You joy and represent You in all that I do.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
