Inside the Box, there is no neutral space. People are beaten, restrained, medicated. Hope is rationed and used as a leash. Minds fracture under the strain until, at the breaking point, almost anyone will say or sign anything just to escape. It’s the same old story of coerced confessions and shattered dignity. Science has studied these tactics, but we pretend they are not practiced in our prisons and jails. In truth, they are alive and well.
