Calling Upon God in Truth – Steps Towards Eternity Daily Devotional

Discover the power of calling upon God with honesty and sincerity

The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
-Psalm 145:18 (KJV)

God is near to those who call on Him in truth. He not only loves truth—He defines it. When we approach Him with sincerity, He is faithful to listen and respond. No sin is too great, no mistake too terrible, to keep us from coming before Him with an honest heart. He invites us to lay everything before Him—our deepest fears, greatest concerns, and even our biggest dreams.

As a loving Father, God desires a relationship built on truth. He never wants us to feel like we have to hide or pretend when we come to Him. He is trustworthy, patient, and compassionate. When we are open and transparent before Him, we experience the fullness of His presence and the peace that comes from knowing we are fully seen and deeply loved.

Reflective Questions:

1.    Do you ever feel like you have to hide parts of yourself from God? Why?
    2.    How can you cultivate a habit of approaching God in complete honesty?
    3.    What burdens or dreams have you been hesitant to share with Him?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for always being near when I call upon You in truth. Help me to come before You with an open heart, holding nothing back. Teach me to trust You with every part of my life, knowing that You love me unconditionally. Let my relationship with You be built on sincerity, and may I always seek You in truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
