God’s Word Is Whole — Let the Holy Ghost Confirm What Belongs
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
— 2 Peter 1:21 (KJV)
As followers of Christ who have been baptized by the Holy Ghost—the same Spirit who moved men to speak prophecy and write the truths of God—we understand that the Bible is unlike any other book.
It took approximately 1,500 years to write the Bible. Some books were written centuries apart, others just a few years. Yet despite the vast differences in time, language, and culture, every book aligns perfectly. Why? Because the true author was not man—it was the Holy Ghost.
That’s why:
• We don’t need to argue over timelines or debate who wrote what.
• We can trust that every book is divinely inspired and intentionally placed.
• We know the Word of God is complete, whole, and unchangeable.
“But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.”
— 1 John 2:20 (KJV)
So when someone claims to have found a “lost book of the Bible,” we don’t panic. We lean into the discernment of the Holy Ghost. What kind of God would lose His own Word? Not ours—He is perfect in all His ways, incapable of error or oversight.
Jude, the half-brother of Jesus, issued this warning:
“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Jude 1:4 (KJV)
This verse warns of false teachers who secretly infiltrate the church to twist the truth. But we are not left defenseless. The same Spirit who authored the Scriptures lives within us, confirming what is truth and what is not. If God didn’t allow something to be preserved in the Bible, we can trust we didn’t need it. The Word is enough.
With the Holy Ghost leading the way, there is no failure.
Reflective Questions:
- Do I trust that God intentionally gave us the exact Scriptures we need—nothing more, nothing less?
- How can I become more sensitive to the Holy Ghost’s discernment when facing teachings that sound spiritual but may not be true?
- Am I grounded enough in Scripture to recognize when something contradicts the Word of God?
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You in the name of Jesus. Thank You for the Holy Spirit—the voice I can always count on to guide me into truth. Give me deeper insight and greater understanding of Your Word. Let every part of my life reflect Your will and please You in all things.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you for reading. God bless you!
