“Keep Going”Don’t Let Weariness Win- Steps Towards Eternity Daily Devotional

Feeling weary? Take a breath, lean on God, and keep going. The harvest is coming.

2 Thessalonians 3:13 (KJV) – “But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.”

Doing the right thing can feel exhausting. You give, you serve, you stay faithful, but sometimes it seems like nothing changes. No recognition, no instant results, just the quiet work of obedience. That’s when discouragement creeps in, whispering, Why bother?

But here’s the truth—God sees. He hasn’t overlooked a single effort. Every act of kindness, every choice to stand firm, every time you push forward when quitting seems easier—it all matters.

Why You Can’t Give Up

•    God’s Timing is Perfect – “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9) The results might not be instant, but they’re certain.
    •    Your Obedience Impacts Others – You never know who’s watching. Your perseverance could be the encouragement someone else needs.
    •    Strength Comes from Christ – You don’t have to do this alone. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Reflective Questions:

 1.    Have I ever felt weary in doing what’s right? What caused it?
    2.    Do I sometimes expect immediate results for my efforts? How can I trust God’s timing instead?
    3.    Who in my life might be encouraged by my perseverance?
    4.    Am I trying to push through on my own strength, or am I relying on God for renewal?
    5.    What practical steps can I take today to keep going in well-doing, even when I feel discouraged?

Prayer:

Lord, when I get tired, remind me why I started. Give me strength to keep going, knowing You see it all and that nothing done for You is ever wasted. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you for reading. God bless you!
